5th JUNE 2011
We had a surprisingly well attended meeting in June, despite the awful weather forecast which did come true, giving us steady rain all afternoon.

We had more Afghans than other breeds today, astonishingly given the weather.  Most of them had been at Southern Counties the day before and looked very different after an afternoon in the rain, but no doubt they enjoyed themselves a lot more!
On then to the Afghan results, fastest green dog was Mac Parker in 28.76, no bitch.  Yellow dog was Blaize Gosling in a very good 26.56, yellow bitch his sister Jay in 26.60.
Blue dog was Ritchie Murphy in 25.03, bitch again his sister Margot Odell in 26.06.  Red dog was Jude Murphy in 24.04, very closely followed by his new running mate Smoke Fincham in 24.10.  Red bitch was Kira Odell in 24.53.
Pink dog and fastest short distance of the day was Ozzy Parsons in 23.63. The only other pink qualifier today was Hack Wickens, a very big welcome back to Hack and Neffy, we’ve missed you.
Fastest veteran dog was the amazing Shah Parsons in 24.34, veteran bitch was Willow Humphreys in 25.42
Over 460 metres fastest bronze dog, all the way from Northampton was Polo Lee in 44 seconds exactly, silver bitch was Margot Odell in 40.09, and platinum dog and fastest middle distance of the day was Ozzy in 37.63.  He then went on to take the fastest 660m in 56.91, achieving the fastest time in all three distances today – well done Ozzy!

Of the other breeds the fastest lurcher over all three distances was Nimbus Gadsby, his first time running here and his times were 20.58 over 260, 34 over 460 and 41.55 over 660.  Our other lurcher present today was Snoopy Parker who achieved a very good 22.72 over 260m .  Dalmation cross Alfie Edwards loves his racing and achieved a time of 25.20, not forgetting Staffie Suzy Arris who raced round in 29.63.

We should like to thank everyone who joined us in the rain, we really appreciate the support and hope to see you all again on the last Sunday in June.
